THE MANY HATS OF
TOOTHLESS GEORGE

Toothless George is a punk rock musician from Philadelphia, PA, best known for his one-man band, TOOTHLESS GEORGE & HIS ONE-MAN BAND, and as the founding member, and principal songwriter for THE HALFLINGS featuring members of the Teen Idols (Fat Wreck Chords) and The Queers (Asian Man Records) He also played with TURBO A.C.'s, RAT CITY RIOT, and the now legendary STRYCHNINE BABIES featuring Christian Martucci of The Dee Dee Ramone Band.  
His current punk band, POISON HEARTS AC is as he says, "the band [he's] always wanted to do."  It is the coalescence of seemingly every idea he had since starting his first band, in 1988. 

Toothless George has is truly a multi-hyphenate, making his mark in the worlds of art, literature, theater, dance, skateboarding, and even women's roller derby.

ART: He is an award winning graphic designer with over thirty years experience print making. His specialty is designing logos, album covers, and concert posters.

LITERATURE: He is the author of the musician instructional book, Band Together, a romance novella titled, Angel of the Aegean, and was a columnist for Wonka Vision Magazine, and contributing writer for Maximum Rocknroll Magazine.

THEATRE:  In 2007 he was awarded The Barrymore Award for Excellence in Theater for a musical he helped to write, and perform in. He has been featured as a background character in many television shows. 

DANCE: From 2004 to 2005 he taught East Coast Swing, Jitterbug, Lindy Hop, and Charleston at Temple University in Philadelphia, PA

SKATEBOARDING: Pro Rider for Conformist Skateboards.

ROLLER DERBY: He is the only male founding member, and original coach and referee for The Philly Roller Girls roller derby league.


In 2010, his house collapsed and he lost almost everything he owned. Luckily his music equipment was safely in his van at the time. He lived in the back of that van for several months until the bitter cold of a Philadelphia winter prompted his move to San Diego, where he rebuilt his life.
